M1903 Springfield "Hybrid" for sale. Receiver was made near the end of WW1 by Rock Island Arsenal and stamped with a serial number. Parts were shipped to Springfield Armory to be finished when Rock Island shut down production. SA added the barrel. During WW2, this rifle was serviced at the Ogden Arsenal and inspected by gun legend Elmer Keith (father of the 357 and 44 magnum cartridges) and marked with his inspector stamp OGEK with a box around it. He had to fight with the Army to do things the proper way. You can look him up on Wikipedia.
This gun has been in the family for 50 years. In really good shape and has a smooth bolt action. This was a display piece in our home and was never fired by us. Early and mid 1903's are reported to have had receiver problems. This was a late production model so it should have the hardened receiver. To be safe, like any antique gun, please have it checked by a competent gunsmith before firing. Includes a sling.
I uploaded a video of the bore. This was taken with a ultra cheap USB "snake cam" attached to my phone. Video quality isn't great but you can see the condition.
